The Story

Ornamental Cherry Trees are appreciated around the world, but they are venerated in Japan, where many of them are native. In Japanese culture, the briefly persisting but gorgeous flowers offer a moment of reflection on the fleeting nature of youth. Weeping Pink Infusion is an improvement on the traditional Weeping Pink Cherry Tree that gardeners have grown for hundreds of years. The new version was discovered at Lake County Nurseries near Cleveland, Ohio. It is considered to be more tolerant of heat and drought than the original, and its glossy leaves are more resistant to the fungal disease known as shot hole.

The Details

Everybody loves Cherry Trees for their bountiful spring blossoms, but these are not merely one-hit wonders. Many of them delight us in fall as well with enchanting, colorful foliage. Weeping Pink Infusion Cherry is no exception. When days get chilly, it responds by turning a glowing gold color.

How to Grow

Since your Weeping Pink Infusion Cherry is going to be the showpiece of the neighborhood, you should learn how to keep it looking healthy and happy. It’s really not that complicated. Like all Cherry Trees, Weeping Pink Infusion loves to bask in full sun and gladly accepts regular irrigation, but it hates to sit around with “wet feet.” Irrigate with the Bower & Branch Elements™ Watering System and fertilize annually with Elements™ Fertilizer to help your tree establish a strong root system. Be sure to remove suckers from the base of the tree as soon as they appear, and if you see any branches sprouting from the trunk, nip ’em in the bud (literally).
