Subtly sophisticated, and living up to its name. Dark Green Spreader Yew is one of the best evergreens for landscaping! A graceful, low spreading yew with dense, soft needles. Creating a landscape with good bones and a pleasing color all year round. Plant in rock gardens or border gardens for a charming look as a row of small hedges!
At 3 ft. to 4 ft. tall with a 4 ft. to 6 ft. spread, this shrub features soft, dark green needles and dense green foliage all year round! It's an excellent evergreen foundation plant-it's thick and lush enough to cover pipes, vents, and other eye-sores.
How to Grow
Dark Green Spreader Yew will grow well in full sun, but this plant is usually reserved for shady gardens, because there are so few good evergreens for shade. Part shade is preferable, as deep shade may encourage spacey growth. Water regularly. It is not fussy when it comes to soil types, and is nicely low maintenance. It grows at a slow rate, and under ideal conditions can be expected to live for 50 years or more.
