Live long and prosper! Yews are slow-growing and long living! Though these shrubs are native to Korea, China, Russia, and Japan - some of the oldest Yew’s found are in the British Isles exceeding 1,000 years of age. Outside a churchyard in Perthshire, Scotland, there is a yew planted that is estimated to be 5,000 years old!

Capitata Pyramidal Yew is easy to grow, especially in mild-summer regions of the U.S. It likes full sun, but is somewhat shade tolerant. This plant insists upon sharp drainage—plants getting too much water will turn yellowish-green, then yellow, before checking out.
